Ontwerp Platform Arnhem and Dwarswerk had been looking for young designers to join their new design competition. The assignment was to create a design proposal for a bird houses which can be manufactured by a local social workshop. After the first selection round and a presentation of my proposal did I win the first price. The price was a follow up assignment to continue developing the project. First, I did research for the needs and the ideal circumstances for a variety of domestic birds. Second, made a series of prototypes. Finally, a prototype for our first bird house, as shown above. Due to a major personal setback with the head of the social workshop, causing changes in their structure plus other issues, the project had been paused several times and the whole project was finally discontinued, unfortunately.
